MATERIALS.  Cellulose Acetate

DIM.  1.5" Diameter

Hypoallergenic Post - Stainless Steel

Cellulose Acetate Material, made from wood pulp. Cellulose Acetate Material is much stronger and more durable than an acrylic material. This material costs more than acrylic material to produce. Cellulose acetate is less brittle and wont break as easily. It is also a renewable resource ~ essentially made from a wood pulp. It is the same material used for high-end eyewear frames. This material will last longer and the quality is far superior!

made by nat + noor, more about them in their own words:

Hi! Welcome to NAT + NOOR! Nat is short for Natalia and Noor means light in Arabic. Natalia Riboldi is the owner and creative director of NAT + NOOR. The material used for our earrings is a cellulose acetate, which is a non-petroleum base coming from wood pulp. This makes it a renewable resource. There are a few different materials used for our hair clips. Depending on the style, we use metal, cellulose acetate, plastic or an acrylic material. We are very conscious of waste and using renewable materials at NAT + NOOR. It is easy to label something as eco-friendly, sustainable or natural. However, there are many factors that truly go into caring and making a difference in the eco space. There is the manufacturing process, all shipping materials and the product itself. Natalia, the founder of NAT + NOOR comes from a background of deeply caring about environmental issues spending months in Australia learning from environmentalists and permaculturists. We have not perfected every aspect of making our business 100% sustainable. But we are determined to keep improving and problem solving. We are dedicated to being conscious of the whole process: the waste, the ethics and everything that goes into making a product. We are intentionally trying to be transparent about our process and lower environmental impact.
